On an electric drive you will not likely be traveling at any great speed so the water passing between the tubes will not be overly disturbed so I would think mounting it on the transom would work ok. Secure the plate tot he pontoon with a good silicone adhesive worked for me armchairdeity. On my 2021 Bass Buggy 16 I mounted the transducer for my Humminbird on the bracket supporting my live well pump that is located on the rear of the port pontoon. Drilled two holes in the aluminum bracket and used the Humminbird mount.

If you mount the transducer on the rear end of the tube letting it hang just below the tube maybe 12 inch then you shouldnt have any problem with it picking up while moving. I had a pontoon with the bracket factory mounted on the end of the tube and my depth finder worked fine.
