Ive tried the trailer hooks on the back but they are so low it drags the tube and ski rope under the water. Towbars are used for wake ski and tube.

I think the reason they are doing it like that in the picture is so that the rope is pulling the ring more in the middle a straight pull from the studs rather than trying to pull from the bottom and twisting the ring upward.

I did find an old one and zoomed in but mine was made for the boat so the rear feet attached to the fuel podtransom but the fronts just went through the floor no underskinning on that one.
