Joined May 13 2019 4 Posts. Discussion Starter 1 May 19 2019. Am looking to purchase a inshore mod v boat in the near future to fish in the tidal Rivers of the Chesapeake Bayam looking at a Mako pro skiff 16 or 17 and a Carolina jvx cc 16 or 17.
Would like some info or feedback from individuals with experience of these types of boats or should look at the Parker 1804 cc. The Mako boat lineup is now owned by Bass Pro Shops like Tahoe boats. Unfortunately this company is notorious for providing poor customer service.
This could be because the company is so large that the customer service does not feel personal or it could genuinely come down to bad customer service. I used to have a Pro Skiff 17 with Mercury. No major issues just some typical stuff on all of them. They have a mako skiff forum to address some of them.
I would add hydraulic steering as that was a major issue for us. It would freeze up. 15 is a bit small in my opinion.
