It is a displacement type of craft and unless you have lifting strakes will not just skim across the water like other boats. I am not sure what your wot rpms are supposed to be but it sounds like you have the right prop.

It will do 345 with a full camping load. It appears that you are underpitched I would start with a 17 and experiment from there. I feel I have had good performance considering its just the factory aluminum prop.
Stainless props are much stronger than aluminum and produce better performance due to the fact of having thinner blades. Problem with Stainless is they are so strong hitting something could damage your gearcase. Aluminum will give and the prop will absorb the hit before the gear case would.
