Are sea ray good boats. Sea Ray Boats have their detractors and have had some rough spots in their long history. Most owners seem to be happy with Sea Ray boats and they generally hold up well compared to other similar brands in terms of durability. Overall Sea Ray can be considered to be a good reliable brand.
A Story of Success. The Sea Ray models are an ideal family boat. Get the grandparents kids and friends out on the water to enjoy watersports cruising beaching and more.
One slight drawback is the ability to fish. While fishing is enjoyable aboard the boat anglers risk damaging the ample seating with sharp hooks. Sea Ray makes a good lake boat.
Sea Ray makes a good production boat and is a good brand IMO. They are not the best built boats but will be a great boat for family use on inland lakes. Even well built boats are susceptible to abuse and neglect.
Is the Sea Ray 500 Sundancer a good boat. However the one thing that can be said about this one is that unlike so many boats this one gave off no sense that it is suffering from a lack of structural strength even after bashing one of them around pretty good out in the ocean. Sea Ray is a great brand name. It will hold its resale value much longer than many others. By constrast its Brunswick sister line Bayliner is known as an entry-level boat that will depreciate faster.
The other great names that have been mentioned in this thread also tend to hold resale value. Purchasing a used sea ray boat or yacht instead of a new one is certainly more cost efficient and why there are many more pre-owned sold each year than new. Naturally used boats are cheaper but there are many factors to consider when buying a used boat or yacht that should be considered in order to protect yourself from making a poor decision.

SeaRays are very well built although the larger hulls have had some problems with the core below the waterline.
Most owners keep their Sea Rays in good condition both in appearance and maintenance which make them excellent boats for resale. I have found in my 18 years of selling boats that the Sundancers are the most popular Sea Rays for resale for first time Sea Ray buyers. The differences between the Regal and the Sea Ray come down to personal preference.
Theyre both well-made boats that will last a good long time. I believe they both run the same powerplants too it isnt like one has the better engine and the other is crap. Sea-Ray is a good boat nothing wrong with it.
But its a cookie-cutter boat. Regal is not a cookie cutter boat. By that I mean go and look at a brand new Sea-Ray 40 Yacht and go and look at a 40 Regal yacht.

IMO the Z-Plane bottom on Stingray Boats is the fastest and most efficient hull design of any production ie. Sea Ray Rinker Four Winns Bayliner Chaparral etc built boat in the country. And this may surprise you but Im one-hundred percent sure that Stingray has collected and archived more performance data.
The boat is in very good condition for its age and I stole it for only 500. No trailer but I can use my other one. Im probably going to spend time working on this boat instead of the SRV220 now which means I have an unfinished project.

They are an upscale brand and arguably the market leader in upscale boats. If you are looking for a cruiser you basically HAVE to look at Sea Ray. Plus all of Bayliners scrappy innovation in cruisers seems to have migrated successfully to Sea Raythey have some truly inspired thinking going on in there right now.

We liked the Sea Ray 240 Sundek Larson 288LXI Regal 2520 fastdeck and the Crownline 252 EX. The Larson was really nice in that it was bigger for the same price as the other 24-25 foot boats. All the dealers were talkin smack about all the other brands.
Ive heard that regals are very good quality boats but thats about all that I know. I had basically the same boat hull wise in a Sea Ray 180 OB. It was a great family boat lots of interior room and good storage.
Slalom wakes were low and hard but very skiable. Wakeboarding was challenging as Outboards typically donut have the ability to make good wake for more than slalom. Mine had the 135 Black Max Mercury outboard the.
The story about the 3 boats heading out the inlet is pretty convincing but you have to put so varribles in there being the operators skill and how the wave hit the boat. Also if the sea ray was even 30ft east or west of where the other boats were that can be all the difference.
